Pleasant chords ring from a jazz guitar on a quiet night. High piercing shrills wail from sirens rousing you from a deep sleep. Sounds are all around you. Some are soft and pleasant; others are loud and disagreeable. Think of all the sounds that you can think of. Have you ever wondered how these sounds are processed by your human bio-computer and which organs are used?
You have two ears. Your ears help you to hear. One ear working by itself could not do this very well. Your brain needs to compare and contrast loudness, pitch and timing of sounds from two ears to make sense of them!
